Paul Beyer is the Founder and Director of the Tom Tom Founders Festival in Charlottesville, Va. In 2016, the 5th Annual event featured 50 bands and 90 speakers at dozens of venues in downtown, and drew over 38,000 attendees. The festival’s block parties, talks, forums, workshops, and competitions take place over Jefferson’s birthday week (April 11-17) and celebrate founders in art, business, and society, both locally and across the nation. Since inception, over $2.8M in seed funding and grants have emerged at the festival, and the founders of Reddit, the Container Store, Gizmodo, and Crutchfield, among others, have shared their founding stories.
